Mirror's Edge Review
Like i said before...it's reasonably late at night and i'm bored so....here's a review for you to read which is from my own blog
Let me explain why this is a decent game and not a great game
So we're back in the future in which you're a runner and you run around rooftops passing messenger bags which was not explained what it carries and you're working for someone who is not clearly explained either.
When DICE announced Mirror's Edge i'm sure lots of fans were super excited for the release of the game and as such i was too. The first person free running idea is a great one if done correctly. What Mirror's Edge does however is (unintentionally i think) break up the free running which is a complete let down when you're running away from the police and then you grind to a halt...sit down for a cup of tea and figure out where to go...
Point being.....if you're going to make it a free running game which concentrates on the flow of gameplay, don't make the way to the exit a thought longer to figure out!
That being said Mirror's Edge works perfectly if you know the way around each level. Sometimes moves can be executed flawlessly and it really does give you a real sense of speed and elegance. Since this is the case it's usually a good idea to replay a couple levels just to experience the fun.
Graphically it's a good game to look at, but the over used HDR is such an incredible pain sometimes parts of the level are washed out and bland to look at. Same thing goes for in the dark. At times i was unable to see where i was and this is quite annoying when you're in an elevator shaft and falling will cause death.
I just want to also comment on the police in this game. Why is the police so very very insistent on catching runners and send in dozens and dozens of platoons to hunt down one girl? Do they have nothing else to do in huge city where other disturbances are bound to exist. Maybe their second most prioritized job is to run janitorial services a little too dictatorially and insist on a shiny and pristine city. I don't know maybe i'm knit picking here...
Don't get me wrong this isn't a bad game, it's a good game overall. however just know that when you play this game you'll have a few persistent frustrations with it.

i feel like i should post something deep but i have nothing deep to say...
do you think there is a severe shortage of actual deep thinking in our culture and society? or do you suppose we're all too deep and analyse everything too deeply and read too much into everything? if the former why do you suppose that is? i mean do you think that too much value is placed on superficial things such as outward appearance and so on so that cultivating our minds is neglected? or do you think that we analyse everything so deeply that we neglect to appreciate the beauty of the things we're analysing. i'm specifically referring to the arts here, eg. painting etc, novels etc, etc, etc, etc. i personally think that maybe we have an oddly juxtaposed way of looking at life. we place so much value on external appearance while at the same we analyse everything very deeply at the same time. all the while neglecting the in between states of being happy with our bodies and other people's bodies and appreciating beauty for what it is, ie. beauty. i don't know. that's what i think. feel free to disagree with me. i was also thinking about sex the other day (not actual imagining things etc but just the way society deals with sex) and what i thought was that the victorians were so strongly opposed to the whole idea of sexuality and so on that anything that could possibly be deemed sexual was covered up. now we've gone the exact opposite way in that everything is over sexualised, including girls much younger than what should be. luckily i think human nature is such that it will balance itself out and one day (maybe not in our lifetime) we will be quite comfortable with ourselves, and the natural processes of our bodies and so on. in that way we'll become more animal-like and at the same time less animal-like because it won't be this carnal lust that we're giving in to but something balanced and considered. obviously it'll still be passionate and everything because i don't see how it couldn't be and i don't see the point in it if it isn't but... well i think (hope) you know what i'm trying to say.
wow, block of text much.
----------edit--------------------------
my brain is asleep. i just worked for like 3 hours straight on my traditional cultures project. i'm still only half done and i worked all through last week too!

Double Post, My Bad
Posting twice in a row... aren't I sad?
But I had to because omg I am so pumped for Eurovision tonight!
AAARRRGGHH!
I reckon Norway is a dead-set winner. Best out of the Scandinavians, at least, although Sweden does have an ABBA song disguised as opera (always good). And it's sparkly.
Belarus is shit but awesome and hilarious. Go Belarus! Actually, the Norway guy is from Belarus.
OMG CONSPIRACY BELARUS IS TAKING OVER THE WORLD
But yeah. Denmark's is kinda boring. /cry
I heart Denmark.
Man, I'm pumped! I've been drinking green tea all day!
But yeah, I'm so much of a loser that I'll defiantly be posting afterwards with MASSIVE FULL RUNDOWN OF TOP PICKS, FAVOURITES, UNFAIR DECISIONS ETC.
And no Terry Wogan. Baaawww.
Dear god, my computer didn't know the word 'Belarus'. Way to be stuck in the past, computer.
wow
Not the shitty game.
Man, I haven't posted in so long... I haven't been able to use my computer D:
But yeah wow, the blog has gotten big. All these people! Yay!
Hoo boy, I remember the old days with like seven people. Good times. But I like it better now. Wut do you guise think?
Thank god that whole Hogg >Chelyne > Whatever thing is over now. Kind of. But I miss Hoggy.
On another note, are you guise going to see Star Trek? Apparently a lot of 1337 H4RDC0RE F4N5 are like brraagh this sucks, which probably means it will be pretty good. I might see it in Canberra. 8D
Or maybe I'll see that other rly bad one. meh
Bang!
