Sad Story

So this morning, I got up all massively pumped for Artsfest. Then like 10 minutes later I felt a bit sick, so I lay down for a second; and then had to be sick etc. So I had to stay at home, and now I am watching How to Train Your Dragon. And even though the film is great, I really want to be at Artsfest. Stupid sister gave me Stomach Flu; so yeah, post pictures so I can feel like I was there, even though I am sick.

First, the Dumbo Octopus (even though it's actually a squid). It's called that because the large "ears" resemble Disney's titular elephant:

Nils Olav is a King penguin and he is currently the mascot and colonel in chief of the kings guard. (you can read more about the battalion known as the kings guard in this wikipedia article)

In August 2008, he was visited by the Norweigian King's Guard and awarded a Knighthood. "During the ceremony a crowd of several hundred people joined the 130 guardsmen at the zoo to hear a citation from King Harald the Fifth of Norway read out, which described Nils as a penguin 'in every way qualified to receive the honour and dignity of knighthood'."

Wow i really out done myself this time.

Hey yall super french frie kids.
so like, i have an art case study due tomorrow which was initially due on monday but hey, anyway, i was slowly building up to it and stuff and was like, yea ive done art case studys in a night before i can do it again, but i forgot one crucial factor, i have never had an assignment due the day after the 2 hour and 15 minute finale of american idol so you know what i did? I traded my perfect hand in on time streak and traded it for a night of super delicious american idol.

I regret nothing.

I just hope this wont happen next week when i have a billion things due. ahahaha. oh god.
on the bright side, SCOTTY MCCREERY WON AMERICAN IDOL!!!!!

Annoyances of Hogg

So, I have create a new segment, annoyances of Hogg.
It is basically inspired by things that annoy me in day to day life, with a deceptively interesting sentence and picture at the bottom to pretend I am not whining at you.
So today's winner of annoyance is... Car Ads.
I was watching tv today, Heston's Feasts (basically Heston Blumenthal making wacky versions of food to themes, actually rly awesome) and it's on SBS and SBS has ads and no joke, I saw 14 car advertisements, and they aren't even good. I mean I am yet to see a car ad that does not annoy the crap out of me. Although my mum did buy a car i suggested to her after seeing the ad and thinking it suited our requirements, so I guess they do work, but what is classified as ad buying and what is just simple research. Like thanks to an ad about AMP, I know they exist, and I think they are about future planning or something, but there ad is pretty. Anyway, I am still unsure as to what advertisements are designed to do; make you buy the product or simply make it known to you that it exists and then subconsciously, because of survival instincts, because you have seen the product before, you are more likely to buy it, even though you are not sure of the characteristics it has. Maybe we feel drawn more to products we have seen advertised because we know what they are, even though the one by hgopsn coorperation will be probably just as adequate, we have never heard of it and are thus, unlikely to pick it up off the shelves. I guess then you are going into this whole other topic of what makes you pick things up from the shelves, is it the bright colours, the words or merely random selection of a product at eye level. Would certain companies pay woolworths for certain areas of shelve space closer to personal view. And do woolworths typically stock there own brand in certain places?
The shopping dynamic in general infuriates me, I find there is few times I go into a shopping centre and actually know what the time of day is, like now, I am sitting in my brighly lit room and it's not exactly an atmosphere for fostering sleep, so I am talking about shopping dynamic.

Things that suck in australia

Ice Cream Trux.
what the hell, like all australian icecream trucks sell a one flavor soft serve thing with limited varieties of toppings. and they're ridonculously expensive and dont even taste that good. and the good part is the topping but that runs out super quick as it only covers the top layer and then you're just left with bland softserve in a strange plasticy cone.
and they have like a menu of available treats on the side of the truck but half of them (the good ones) are crossed out. In asia, america and probably the rest of the world (maybe not new zealand), ice cream trucks sell a whole bunch of tasty flavoured popsicles, icey-poles, ice cream sandwiches and more. and they're cheaper and more bright looking. like, in the first house i lived in, the icecream man came everyday and we all got different types of icey treats. and they were good.

yeah. australian ice cream trucks suck.

Another thing.CEREAL. WHY IS ALL CEREAL HERE VAGUELY HEALTHY!?!?!? like, there is no lucky charms, honey stars, trix, captain crunch, frosties or fruity pebbles. its all some sort of flake with grains and dried fruit in it. and museli. the only good things are milo cereal and coco pops and fruitloops. i used to have so many different kiinds of multicoloured cereal.

Beauty pageant

Am I the only one that thinks beauty pageants are a little weird?

Like parents dress there 10 or 11 yr olds up to look 20 and I reckon it's a little bit creepy.
I mean it's basically inviting children to become whores, not that all beauty pageant contestants are whores but when beauty and winning is promoted so high above intelligence, common sense and not selling yourself, there are going to be some pretty bad consequences for those children. I mean, like, yeh I just find it a little weird.
This kid is 6. and she looks old and her eyes are creepy, her name is Eden Wood, she is like the top child pageant kid in the US. Yeh sry, it's just a bit wrong to do this, I reckon. What do you guys think?

So today everyone said i was stressed, even though i wasn't (You are not in my head, you cannot say for sure, all you are doing is presuming based on how i am acting); and then them saying I was stressed, stressed me out, because to be honest it was kinda being forced onto me and has been for the last few days, I will admit I am on edge, it's not exactly easy, as we all do, I have a lot of work and I am under Maria's reign with dance, so i spent this morning before school and after dancing, which is what I am supposedly doing aswell. And I will admit, I was a bit emotional, realising we have a term and a half left before it's all gone. But I was not stressed. You guys shouldn't do that, and yeh I will name a name, I'm sorry Smaz, but basically yelling at me, that I was stressed almost made me cry, I'm just letting you know, it's not an attack, it's just how I felt, and I would prefer if you didn't do it again.
So yes, I will admit, I am emotional at the moment about the end of school and I am tired with a lot of work and dancing, and I am busy with work. But for gods sake, I am not stressed about schoolies, to be honest, it is at the back of my mind, I was merely asking people, to give me a week, because I have a lot on my plate and maybe stop asking for stuff, I know who wants to be with who. I know, I am not a retard, I can see the major group structures, but I also know who gets along with everybody and who doesn't. also, 3 people versus like 10 is like well sorry 3 people if it is not optimum, i will still try and make it good for them, but i can't make it fantastic for them and only ok for everyone else, it's a balancing act. No, I am not asking for you to take the job away, as that is actually a bit insulting, like I can't do it, I am not trying to prove anything, I just feel weak and useless if you take the job off me, I know that sounds stupid and it is. but it's the way it makes me feel when you disregard all the effort I put in, just to do it instantaneously so , I am just asking for a little time. And can you please stop asking me why I am organising it now. I explained it on the fb page and to various people, ask someone.
Yeh, basically, just stop telling me I'm stressed because to be honest, I wouldn't mind it but every time you say it, it feels like you are attacking me, and I feel like I am weak because you all seem fine, and you have just as much work to do, well you know what, this is me and the way I react at the moment. And then it feels like you are pushing me down and it's rly horrible.
You could do to lessen the pay outs as well, I know they are joking, but sometimes it hurts and then you're like Hogg Hogg Hogg and Im like, oh well, it'll be fine, but after a while it's upsetting.
While saying all that, I don't want this to cause some mega outrage because I am not pissed off or anything, and this was written in a calm tone, or meant to be, hence the avoidance of swearing. I just wanted you to know how I feel, as kitsch as that sounds. Also I have posted it rather than saying it because I am fragile emotionally at the moment and sometimes I do want to cry, and I don't want to do it in front of you, if you choose to disregard this and keep yelling at me.
Anyway onto a nicer note, dance was fun today and the yr 11 and 12 parts are looking good and the non-mandatory one is looking great, but yr 7, 8 and 9 are not very enthusiastic. Also while I was exhausted, chem was still interesting. I like chem

The Fires on the Wall



So me and garry went to our cousins 21st last night, and it was allrighht but then we left at like 10 while everyone was still there, and so we decided to walk back to annandale.

There we were just chilling along when all of I sudden I see massive flames pouring from this wall of shrubs on Victoria Road.... i took this video before garry called the firemens

Since it was only a small fire and they said they would just "send someone" to check it out, we thought it was going to be just a small fire van or something but then we heard the sirens and we were like "nah its probs just the police its balmain on saturday night drunk people everywhere blah blah blah" and then were like HOLYOMGWTFBBQ when we saw it was the full Fire Truck with an entire contingent of firefighters in it and stuff. It felt pretty bad-ass to have dispatched all those firefighters lol

But by that time the fire was just a cinder so we stood there for like 5 mins and i got worried coz i realised that tomorrow was the apocalypse and then theres this unexplained fire so i thought it was god telling me something and then I realised I was dumb.
not knowing what to do so then we ran across victoria road and told them what we saw and then the cops were there interviewing some woman and apparently she saw some guy run away from the fire a few seconds after it was lit (which mustve been like 10 seconds before we saw it coz the whole thing only lasted like 2 minutes) and we talked to the fireman and he said the same thing happened at the same place last week so I got all detective-y and wanted to investigate further coz i suspected arson or protest fires or something and I wanted to find out more but then we went home and saw motorbikes racing on victoria road. then end.

P.S. it looked a lot bigger than in the video.
