I don't usually post aus-hip-hop to the blog but this

okay, so anyway this is a song of of Mantra's album, Speaking Volumes,
which features 5 other aus rappers, showing off their abilities.

trust me on this: it's a great song but if you don't want to listen to the whole thing, just listen from 3:06 onwards where the elefants come in and trample the others. Urthboy's verse is at least 2 cuts above the rest of the song, but then Solo's verse... that shit is fucking incredible, no, I can't do it justice by describing it - idk, but judging by the fact the majority of the comments are along the lines of: "...oh wow, fuck, Solo" it hit other people as hard as it hit me
so yeah, you guys should defs listen to horrorshow.

ok theres more on each of the artists under "read more" or whatever it is

also these are the artists in order of appearance on the song and some more of their stuff because the blog is for whatever you want and I'm just gonna talk a lot about AHH because okay.
Illy - I friggin love this guy, I have oa T-shirt of this guy, and his songs are some of the best quality aus-hip-hop around. some of his stuff: The Chase, Diamonds (chill as fuck)
Jeremedy - I don't actually know that much of this guy's stuff but it seems like he's coming up in the scene, if his verse in this is anything to go by then he's someone I'll have to watch
Mantra - He's pretty cool, he's recognised as the best freestyler in aus-hip-hop or at least this sort of 'area' of it, I saw him live and he did 2 freestyles and you literally couldn't tell he was freestyling if the DJ hadn't said something "alright Mantra, give em a freestyle!"
Muph - This guy is better than this, I don't know what happened in this song, but this guy is one of the core artists in the scene. He's the kind of artist that is a staple to the scene but even if aushiphop really takes off then he'll need to outdo himself to get recognised. He normally works with Plutonic Labs (to form Muph & Plutonic): MUPH AND PLUTONIC AND YOU KNOW THAT WE'RE HEAPS GOOD
Urthboy - This guy founded Elefant Traks, which is my favorite label. In this song, he takes his verse up a level from the other rappers. He is one of the best MCs out there and I would go as far as to say he's like the Jay-Z of aushiphop minus the mainstream fame. He is half the rap vocals of The Herd who produce incredible (albeit too grounded in politics) music near constantly (think The King Is Dead). As a solo artist, he has had some fucking amazing stuff and I have a signed shirt from him saying "yo smaz! -Urthboy-" which Elgusto (his producer/half of Hermitude/another Elefant) also signed. I love his stuff, and here are three of his stuff that I love: We Get Around, The Clocks (one of my favorite songs of all time), Above The Canopy
Solo - The MC from Horrorshow, and the representative from the Inner West along with Spit Syndicate and a few others (and a lot of hopefuls). Another Elefant. This guy is fucking smart. There, I said it. Not only that but this guy can rap good too. If there was any MC from Aus that I'd like to be it'd be him. His verse on this song should give you a bit of insight into his ability, where he cuts (imho) at least three levels above Urth. Horrorshow arrived late 2007(ish) I think and they were quickly signed to Elefant Traks, where they almost instantly overshadowed every other artist on the label including the Herd and Urthboy in terms of popularity. I'm not gonna write that much more cause I've written a lot already for this guy but seriously, he is a cut above other artists. To me at least, Elefant Traks are generally next-level aus-hip-hop (minus Sietta and Joelistics, because Joelistics tries too hard to be smart but doesn't connect and Sietta are good but boring) but this is next-next-level aus-hip-hop. Here are some Horrorshow's best stuff: Itchy Feet (the most played song in my iTunes), Choose None ft Just Enuf of Spit SyndicateNo Rides Left (chill as fuck), Waiting for the 5.04The Rain, Venice Queen (by SS, ft Solo as the third verse) (pretty chill too)... shit, if I keep going I'll list all their songs. Okay, if you're gonna get into one aus-hip-hop artist, let it be Horrorshow.

tl;dr: this is a good song, showing off aushiphop, and Urthboy is really good, and Solo of Horrorshow is fucking incredible. also I fucking love aushiphop
