That is correct. It is indeed Happy.
This is because Yoshikawa Miki (mangaka of yankee kun to megane chan) is a fan of Hiro Mashimas works. You have probably noticed/realised/found out that she had worked as an assistant under him. Notice that the manga drawing style is actually quite simillar?
She often references his manga in her work and they also collaborated on the cross over one shot Fairy Megane. You can read this on mangareader.net. I highly recomment that you read it only after completing the Yankee kun to Megane Chan series.
