Anyway now i want to just retell one of the funniest moments we've had with Alien Swarm which does include an hour of stupidity. Basically the 4 of us (mo, tristan, brandon and I) was playing the 1st level on insane mode. For the first 8 tries we were just fucking around, going slow mo and shooting the crap out of tristan and wielding mo on the other side of the room. brandon however demanded that we at least try and finish the first level on insane mode seriously.
So it begins for the umpteenth time that we try to maintain some decorum in our play. Throughout the level we accidentally do a bit of friendly fire (some intentional :D) directed at tristan. He fires up at mo and they start bickering.
The last bit of the level is where things get funny, there is a corridor leading to the end of the level, with a door which leads to the finish. Tristan and I get in there first. Tristan then turns around and says "Haha Bitches see what happens when you keep fucking shooting me?!" Just as he finishes wielding the door shut an alien outside spurts gunk ontop of tristan and explodes on him, of course killing him. He was the only tech guy able to unwield doors and the wielding tool didn't drop from his body. So now tristan was laughing his head off saying that we can't open the door and finish the level; remember we were trying to finish off the level for like an hour now.
So brandon and mo are stranded on the other side bashing the door trying to break it with no success. Being the nice guy i am i turn around and help them by us all shooting down the door. As the health bar for the door reaches zero, it fucking swings downwards over me crushing my body with blood gushing everywhere in super slow-mo. Can you believe how unbelievably annoying that is to try so long and still not succeed? The remaining two however run over my body to claim mission complete.
Despite trying to actually play seriously, i spent 3 hours waiting for mo, an hour and a half trying to finish one level on insane mode, and 5 seconds being crushed by a door and ultimately i didn't really finish the level.
Anyway I'm still laughing at the moment now and i do urge all of you to just download the game. It's free and it's 4 player co op so DO IT!

i still have to beat the campaign :(
the farthest ive gotten is about half way trhough I think, so i havent had all of the awesomeness of the last levels
but that sounds aweesome brian. I think games - particularly source gfames - can be far more fun if u just dick around and not actually care than the actual seriously gameplay itself :P

i just encountered an alien with unlimited health. Must be a glitch but this one alien killed all my friends and myself.
freaking flamed, electrocuted and shot it with a shotty. Nothing worked.
