So i was told about this massacre in Japan

And it was insane, because this whole japanese religious cult released poison gas numerous times killing and injuring heaps of people.
But as interesting as it was to read and hear about that incident, i found this as a link on wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_who_have_claimed_to_be_Jesus

At first i laughed, just reading the title alone is just.. Haha.

But, i found a certain pattern in the list of people. Its not hard to find if you just read a few, that is, people often gave themselves this title in order to lead mass massacres or suicidal bombings.

The fuck.

I mean, religion is meant to enhance peace in a society but when it comes to 'fear of Armageddon' or something apocalyptic everyone seems to turn a blind eye and go crazy.

Are people that easy to manipulate?!

I guess its in history aswell because whole countries have fought over there own religions sake.

Then i got thinking, why do we believe in such superstitions in such a scientific world? Like.... will the tradition of the pope continue forever? Will people still hang up little objects in their house for protection against whatever they believe to be evil? And so...why do we allow such fear to poison our minds that evil spirits will haunt us or take us to hell and not heaven. It would be easier to believe in the good practice of humanity rather than the paranoia of that which doesnt really exist.

But having said that i go to greek church every year on easter and christmas because it just is. I guess people will do anything to belong.

If someone tells you that they are christian your are like oh ok its cool. But if someone tells you they believe in harry potter's reality you are like bro stop waving sticks in my face. Harry potter has good values, saving friends, sticking to the light and all that jazz. So porce no lostos?

I guess because we cant leap back in time and see what people were talking about in the times of Jesus we just cast it as reality.

Im not saying im a harry potter believer, chill. Its just....nnnnnnnggggggggg.

because most people dont have excess to to education the way we do, in america, some kids complain about learning about evolution instead of god because they think evolution was made up.

but yeah, it's crazy that people let an invisible sky fairy lead their lives and even crazier that they think they are communicating with it by whispering words in their minds.

religion was made (i think) because people needed a reason, there is no proof that god exists or that it doesnt but there is proof that science works.

its all about upbringing and exposure and both sides think that they are the enlightened ones.
