i don't actually know, and it's terrible not having anything to work towards. but i guess i kind of have the same goal as everyone else.
go to university and study.... something, i was thinking Communications at UTS? . achieve degree and enter workforce. work in large company for a few years before leaving to start my own. through out this time i'm dating beautiful women.
when about 29 i meet gorgeous and talented women and we immediately fall in love. get married and have kids a couple years later. at this point we buy a house. life continues and i and my wife get steadily more successful before i leave what ever business i have to become an actor and subsequently become super famous.
my wife ages really well and stays super hot till like 60. my kids grow up to do better than me in every way, and i die and international hero.
that or i win the lottery when im 18 and simply dick around till im 50 when i'll have a mid-life crisis.
Jon, your winning the lottery plan was hilarious. Umm besides the engineering thing that everyone kinda knows and studying in Switzerland. Every time I am on the bus I imagine what it would be like to own or rent my own house and to have my personal space, which I would like to have as of next year if in Switzerland or some time later after uni. I'd like to start off working there and in Europe, at the same time learning, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Chinese. Maybe date people that didn't do the same thing as me, like write books or I dunno something, probably western European. Preferably taller than me as well. I can't really deal with shorter, it makes me feel oversized.
I'd really actually like to get married, and have children, maybe at 28 or so. I guess like you guys might not get that with my personality but I dunno my own children seem different in my head to the ones that scream on aeroplanes and piss me off. I'd like to do different things, I know I want to be an engineer for a while but I dunno if that's what I want to do for my entire life. I guess at some point I'd like to move into management, and knowing people like that, I'd like to be the person that could run a company but be high enough up the chain, to not have to work like a dog all the time. Like I'd still like to have a family, and I dunno how that'd work in the corporate world but hey, I guess that's part of life. I'd also like to write a book about my theories of life at some point, (kinda probably just going to be a pay out on liberals and tony abbott for middle aged people with green views and atheists)
I also probably won't live in Australia for very long, like I love it, but the politics makes me want to smack half the population across the face. I kinda worry I am going to become like my mother or my father, probably more worried that I will become like my father and work horrifically long hours from when I am 30 to when I am 45 then have a mid-life crisis and leave my family. I dunno why but sometimes it feels like that is going to become a reality. Maybe also end up a missing person, but actually be just living under an alternate identity in France and working on a farm or something. I dunno why though. I'd also really like to be known or famous, just to sorta actually contribute something to the world. Maybe an invention or you know a theory or a concept. I dunno. Something that helps humanity become less of a polluting and destructive machine.
I'd like to age gracefully and retire to a property in Brittany in France and own a horse. I'd love to spend half my time there and half travelling around the world visiting other countries and learning other languages. I actually have an aspiration to be able to speak 10 languages and then apply them in the UN or something. I'd kinda also like to be a diplomat for one country or another.
I also never want to stop learning, like not necessarily uni courses or such but you know languages and skills. Like I really want to learn how to make furniture, apholster, make stained glass, and various other things, including roof tiling. You know just useful skills. Yeh that's about it.
when i grow up, i wanna be famous, i wanna be a star, i wanna have boobies
but like serious now. next year i'm going to italy for 10 months, on a program thats 5 months school (yeah, you guys are leaving huh) and then 5 months in work experience. after that i'm gonna go to university to study something, either music production, game design (both prac and theory) or linguistics.
my dream (call me naive or whatever) is to be like, a musician, which is why i wanna do music production. if i did that, i'd spend the time in uni learning it putting together an album or two and then when i hit the other end, build up a following or like, find a label or something. so hopefully in italy i get work experience background in music. idk if that's something i'll want to do later but it's what i would like now. my dream within a dream is to be a defining artist, and to sort of push a few musical scenes together and further than they have before - but chances are i won't make it half that far.
i also wanna be a game designer, because that's always been something i've been passionate about. i know how to program video games to a particular level - i'm by no means an expert but i'm far from a beginner. plus, by my own research/interest i know quite a bit about game design theory already. (same as linguistics) funny thing is, the best games (to me) are mostly the ones with fucking incredible music - ocarina of time, pokemon, earthbound, age of mythology - all of which were defining games for my childhood, all have pretty amazing music behind them. now also games like minecraft, assassins creed... whatever, i'm digressing
one of the things i wanna do is be able to speak lots of languages, particularly languages like italian, japanese, spanish, chinese, russian, french, dutch... idk. just lotsa languages
I have no idea really but in truth I am not worried.
I know a few things really: -I want to travel, for a good length of time. Sometime before I'm 30, but when exactly I have no idea. -I want to go back to China for a few years if I can. I feel bad for not fully learning another language during my time at IGS, so going to China will let me experience the other country I grew up in as well as just like increase my persepective on the world. -I want to study at ANU, but I'm not sure what. -I want kids, but that's long-term goals really.
As for my job, my dreams, etc. I have no idea. I could do something in politics or economics (I would very much like to change my country) or something like get into the film industry, but right now I'm leaving myself open to whatever. I know that I will find something for me eventually, I jsut have to let time tell me what it is.
And out of life, I want recognition. I want to be remembered on this planet, but I still have a whole lifetime to do something memory worthy.
Go to a badass college, party all the time and have pizza, stayin in a dorm with a fun ass room mate.
i think im gonna do biotech which is sick cos science kids are always the most fun
then somehow eventuate into owning 3 major casinos
and marrying a k-pop star lol jokes probs marrying a break dancing american asian and having cats and koi fish and children that break dance and get really involved with economics
and then when im 30 i'll start writing and drawing a super awesome manga, 'cause by then, i'll be able to speak/write in chinese and japanese and engrish
You guys have mad ambitions >.< Sam, i completely relate to all the game music you wrote, it was scary cause it was like you were reading my mind! Haha yeah, i defs wanna create a game with sick-ass music too.
Furthermore, i just feel a need to do something about this shitty greedy world.
I had a thought once- like... what if there is a planet out there, in which the people are so close to the land, yet so advanced in their technology, that everything is so clean, and people help eachother out non-stop. Kind of like, what if we didn't all own one block of land, but rather just slept in whatever house we wanted for the night, we all just shared it. And solar energy was utilised to the fullest, and people ate real things and the trees were plenty and healthy.
Then i thought...thats actually pretty possible on earth. So i want to create a village, as an example to the rest of the world really. In this village, you wont need to intoxicate the world with cars, and mass production. You wont be threatened with obesity cause real food that we are meant to eat will grow, no need for fatty shit. Furthermore, technology will be selected, seeing as though solar power has its limits. So this means health centres will be first, and then minor little things, like solar watches or solar lamps and stuff like that. Money won't exist either. THe village will have no need for it, cause no one will be greedy and take more than they need cause they realise itll just disadvantage others. Everyone will have a strong community sense, and can actually create a healthier land.
But i also want to create a martial arts school. Like, kids will be like, "oh yeah whats your next period?", "i got karate, then after lunch gym" Haha i think itd just be awesome to have a ninja school.
I know i sound like im on something...but really isn't our world just a little too advanced in the wrong areas? Too many luxuries, (i.e the car, the elevator), and too many weapons.
Thats my broad approach on life...i just need to make alotta money before i think about this village
i love you guys, best dreams, especially Jon's "my wife ages really well and stays super hot till like 60. my kids grow up to do better than me in every way, and i die and international hero. "
me..... i want to do a lot of things ahaha.
graduate from school, apply for us universities and hopefully i will get into harvard/brown/stanford/columbia or somewhere. go to usa to do my undergraduate degree in development studies and environmental science and then possibly law school for a graduate degree.
then i honestly have no idea. i want to be in the non-governmental organisation sector, whether in the UN or a charity organisation like Amnesty, but I don't quite know how to get there. ultimately, i want to start my own aid/environmental organisation and actually do something that impacts the world in some sort of way. not because i want to be remembered personally but because i want to do something to help people.
alongside this of course, (and this is mostly a joke but i feel it's achievable), i want to be the male nicki minaj and have a semi-successful singing/rap career after being discovered on youtube. which i will start once school is finished.
most of all i really just wanna find love though, and for all the right reasons, cause honestly what's a life without it?
