summarised, but oh well
1. outline the contributions of c. j. doppler, a. fizeau, e. hubble to our belief the universe is still expanding. include an outline of the red and blue shift.
at least one page

2. write a review of 2 articles about 2 theories of the universe' creation. include a comparison of the theories and a summary of the information.
1 page, size 12 font.

3. create an a4 poster about ho the sun releases energy, where the corona is found, what sunspots are (and why they are darker), aurora borealis and australis.

4.clickview video.
/when we view light from a star, we are looking back in time. explain briefly.
/describe two ways the telescope has helped astronomy.
/what is the name of pythagoras' orbit theory? ("geocentric")
/where is the sun in relation to earth in a heliocentric model?
/how did galileo see stuff like mountains, craters, flat areas on the moon? (wow, thats a tricky q. /sarcasm)
/why do we have leap years
/since 1990s 300 extrasolar planets have been found. why have they only recently been found?

5. draw a flow diagram summarising the hertzsprung-russel diagram.
A4 at least

6. write a story from the point of view of an astronaut about a space mission that has occured in the past. include correct names of craft, correct dates, "interesting facts".
1 typed page/2 handwritten pages.
(scientists seem unable to comprehend that there would need to be a complication in the plot of any narrative. :( just having scientific craft names and dates makes for a shitty story.)

7. calculate the time taken to alpha centauri (4.3 light yrs)
by
a. 40,000km/hr
b. 100km/hr
at least 0.5 handwritten page.
(ansewer with hours, days, weeks, months, years for both)

8. Draw a timeline to scale (ohshi-) to show the history of the development of the telescope, relate technological devopments to our increased understanding of stars + the expanding universe.
"This should be at least 1-2 a hand written pages."
(uh, id say 1 A4 page)

9. Research info on the Anglo-Australian telescope or the parkes radio telescope. include info on the history, structure, function, current usage. organise onto a poster, brochure or powerpoint.
somehow it needs to be at least 1 A4/A3 hand written page. "at least" implies it can be more than one which is impossible for a brochure or poster, and hand written is impossible to put in a powerpoint. what is this?
